GAS MAINS REPLACEMENT:
The plan for this work is over a 12 week period. This has started on Phase 1 at Boxmoor close/Rowcliffe Ave and hope to replace the gas main pipe today 5th November, then 1 week to complete the reinstatement.
The residents will get the 10 day advance notice letter and a visit from a Colleague to help explain the procedure. It’s important that people are not left worrying about the situation in this current climate. Please ring the number on the letter or the customer service desk if they have any issues.
We hope to complete each phase in 1 week replacing the main gas pipe followed by 1 week to complete the reinstatement(and get back to normal).Delays can be created by incorrect maps or the depth of the gas pipe.

An update from Razia Daniels, our Councillor:
Good Afternoon Everyone
Paul Hennis, has just called me to give an update. He said that they have completed work in Boxmoor Close and are next starting to work in Rowcliffe Avenue.
I mentioned concerns raised by residents including questions raised on social media for example – why not start work in spring/summer time when weather is better.
Paul assured me that they are working through their priority list of work to be undertaken. He is happy to answer any questions raised online.
Take Care and Stay Safe.
Many Thanks

Good morning
Please can you update the progress on this work as it appears to have fallen behind schedule . I am at 10 Rowcliffe and have BB three doors down . To date I have had no notification as to when they will be working outside let alone 10 days notice or provision of heaters.
Last night they were working with machinery until 11pm and I wish reassurance this is not going to continue.
I look forward to an update asap

I have asked Razia Daniels, our Councillor to check on this.

response received from Razia Daniels: I have just received a phone call from Paul Hennis from Balfour Beatty to say that Cadent, who deal with the infrastructure work, were working last night as they discovered a major gas leak and they were responding to emergency work which was undertaken last night. I understand that this has now been resolved. Paul Hennis will be visiting Mr Stephen Ashton at no.10 Rowcliffe and also neighbouring properties. If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact Paul Hennis on 07523505830.
